"Hogging The Covers" : 2007 (demo)

Instrumental covers using just the Variax300 only (mostly).
A dozen guitar parts on some tunes. Many made-up harmonies.
But stayed true to the melodies and existing harmonies.
Same synth "Sub-Bass" setting, minimal synth on couple more.

Roam     (4:20)       1989: The B52's, Robert Waldrop     .Lyrics.
(... had to chop off the last 45 seconds of the scat/jam... a bit too long...)

Nature's Way     (2:30)       1970: Spirit     .Lyrics.
(... needed the drums on this... Telecaster used on one lead guitar part...)

Try     (2:59)       1983: Marshall Crenshaw     .Lyrics.
(... song really does stay in 6/8 even between 1:22 and 1:51 different feel...)

I Don't Want To Tie You Down     (2:07)       1973: Todd Rundgren     .Lyrics.
(... original tune mostly piano... made-up those color harmonies though...)

Maryanne     (2:53)       1982: Marshall Crenshaw     .Lyrics.
(... just love Marshall Crenshaw, invented the solo though...)

(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes     (2:49)       1977: Elvis Costello     .Lyrics.
(... one with many guitar parts, love the bridges and that stanza at 1:15 -- 1:20...)

Look Through Any Window     (2:19)       1966: The Hollies, Gouldman/Silverman     .Lyrics.
(... just a favorite tune used loved to play live drums along with...)

Ladder     (3:34)       1995: Joan Osborne     .Lyrics.
(... actually used to sing this in "Night Shift" band, chopped vamp end off this too...)

If It Makes You Happy     (3:20)       1996: Sheryl Crow     .Lyrics.
(... should have chosen a different one, this is a bit boring but nice lyrics...)

Don't Cross The River     (2:36)       1973: America, Dan Peek     .Lyrics.
(... needed the drum shuffle to keep the "feel" also 5 Telecaster parts on it...)

Free Ride     (2:54)       1972: Edgar Winter Group, by Dan Hartman     .Lyrics.
(... lead guitas on nylon were %&$@#- shoulda made em up instead of copying...)

If The Sun Doesn't Shine     (3:03)       1988: The Smithereens     .Lyrics.
(... another that has a whole bunch of parts to it... plus love this band anyway...)
