"Dead Pet Names" : 2002
All instrumentals first invented on the little Roca Parlor guitar.
Yes, are real names of pets who are in animal heaven.
No, did not write these songs specifically for a particular animal.
Titles were mostly afterthoughts and/or trying a little bit to
"match" personality of the pet with the style of the song somewhat.
Lots of guitars, pianos and synths all over the place.
Chiquita (2:07) Light Pop-Rock
(... little long-hair daschund mix-thing from Humane Society in Orlando, she was 17...)
Jet (2:39) Contemporary Jazz-Pop
(... lead guitar the Hohner nylon, Jet was a Chinese Button Quail, son of Lily and Pepe, Pepe killed him...)
Velva (2:32) Medium Jazz-Pop-Rock
(... AKC name "Lady Velveeta Lu Matelo", jumped over 6-foot wall, hit by car...)
Bandit (2:03) Jazz-Pop Fusion
(... favorite on album, jumps between 5/4 and 6/8, some big hound mix thing our family had adopted...)
Santana (2:37) Medium Rock
(... she lived to be almost 20 years old --- also recently found the original intro to this song...)
Sunny (2:14) Light Pop
(... Chinese Button quail liked to lay out in the sun, real harmonica, fake bongos...)
Lily (2:39) Medium Pop
(... Jet's mother, fake tambourine, too much guitar reverbs and delays for some people been told...)
Waldo (2:22) Contemporary Jazz-Pop
(... the little digger-under-the-fencer, nothing worked, hit by car, song sounds like chasing after him...)
Pepe (2:37) Slow Easy Listening
(... kinda almost sad song in a way, twin 12-strings, 4/4 some 6/4 before the 6/8 bridge with one 1/8...)
Pepper (2:03) Contemporary Jazz-Pop
(... that noise was supposed to be Seabright Bantam Chicken without sounding like a chicken...)
Blackie (2:13) Medium Jazz-Rock
(... almost confusing guitar part in there, he was my first doggie...)
Dingo (3:07) Western Jazz-Rock
(... poor little guy lost all his teeth, old age at 14, rhythm guitars tuned special, zesty drums, he was spunky...)
Dingo2 (4:05) Easy-listening Jazz-Pop
(... found this softer version from old backup discs, was recorded a week earlier and never had a mixdown...)
Zippy (2:41) Contemporary Pop-Rock
(... Austrailian Zebra Finch, zipped all around the aviary he did, a zippy tune...)
Sparky (2:10) Western Easy Listening
(... he didnt live long enough to spark much, Chiquita killed him, almost a sad song...)
Mhota (2:47) Western Pop-Rock
(... 14 years old age, AKC name "Madame Mhota Mae Matelo", the starts and stops match her moodiness...)
Bizz (2:32) Hard-Rock
(... song so did not match rest of the record, originally omitted, he got mean to some people...)
