"DT Blues"
1980 music B.G.Matthews - words D.W.Gillison

Performing purple passions with a pygmy pachederm -
a damn disgusting drama every little man should learn.
Though he's as big as a house, and afraid of a mouse,
he's just not what he seems. He's just a fragmentation
of my imagination in an alcoholic dream.

I got delerium tremons - my wife is a lemon -
and I can't afford a meal.
I really do reek - my roofs got a leak -
and I'm never gonna make it to heaven.

I see maggots on the walls and lice in my hair.
A razor in my apple but I don't really care.
I think I'll get to hell on the shortest road there.

I got cotton in my throat - and puke on my coat -
and I ain't had a shave in a week or more.
My skins on too tight - no bathroom in sight -
so I think I'll take a leak on the floor.

I got the DT Blues - and holes in my shoes -
and my overalls don't fit right. But I've got whiskey in my gut
- and a two-bit slut - to help me through the night.
